Refund policy

Return, Exchange & Refund Policy

At Break Time, we want you to love your jewellery. This policy explains both your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws and our additional voluntary return and exchange options.

1. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

If you are purchasing as a consumer within the European Union, you have the legal right to withdraw from your purchase without giving any reason.

You have 14 days from the day you, or a person designated by you, receives the last item in your order to notify us that you wish to withdraw from the purchase.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, please submit your request through your customer account portal:

Once you have notified us, you must return the goods within 14 days.

2. Refunds for Withdrawn Orders

After receiving the returned goods, we will inspect them and issue your refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving the return.

Refunds will be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise agreed.

We will refund:

  • The purchase price of the returned item(s)

  • Standard outbound shipping charges paid by the customer

If you selected a premium or expedited shipping option, we are only required to refund the cost of standard delivery.

3. Return Shipping Costs

Unless the item is defective, incorrectly supplied, or otherwise required by law, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods.

We recommend using a tracked shipping service, as we cannot be responsible for returns lost in transit.

For returns sent from outside the European Union, please clearly mark the parcel as "Returned Goods" and declare no commercial value. Any customs duties, taxes, or import charges incurred due to incorrect customs declarations may be deducted from the refund.

4. Products Excluded from the Right of Withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised.

This includes:

  • Custom engraved jewellery

  • Custom-sized jewellery made specifically to customer request

  • Custom colour combinations made specifically to customer request

These products cannot be returned for a refund unless they are defective.

5. Our Extended 60-Day Return Policy

In addition to your statutory rights, we offer a voluntary 60-day return policy on eligible non-custom products.

You may return any eligible non-custom product within 60 days of delivery.

Returned items must be:

  • Unworn

  • In their original condition

  • Returned with original packaging

Refunds under this voluntary policy will be issued to the original payment method or as store credit.

Shipping costs are non-refundable under the extended 60-day policy. If your order qualified for free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost may be deducted from the refund.

Return shipping remains the customer's responsibility.

6. Manufacturing Defects

We take pride in the quality of our products. If you believe your item has a manufacturing or material defect, please contact us as soon as possible and provide photographs of the issue.

After inspection, we may:

  • Repair the item

  • Replace the item

  • Provide a refund

This will be determined based on the nature of the defect and applicable consumer protection laws.

Where a defect is confirmed, we will also reimburse reasonable return shipping costs upon proof of payment.

This policy does not affect any statutory rights available under applicable consumer protection laws.

Examples of manufacturing defects may include:

  • Faulty assembly

  • Defective materials

  • Broken hardware resulting from a manufacturing fault

The following are not considered manufacturing defects:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Scratches from regular use

  • Discolouration caused by chemicals, cosmetics, sunscreen, perfumes, chlorine, or salt exposure

  • Damage caused by accidents, misuse, improper care, or unauthorized modifications

7. Exchanges

Exchanges are available within 30 days of delivery.

The customer is responsible for shipping the original item back to us.

For items purchased at full price, Break Time will cover the shipping cost of the replacement item.

For discounted purchases or orders that qualified for free shipping promotions, the customer is responsible for shipping costs in both directions.

Custom engraved bracelets may be exchanged for a different size or rope colour for a €10 remake fee.

8. Rope Replacement Service

A rope replacement service is available for €10 per bracelet.

Please contact us for current turnaround times and available rope colours.

9. How to Start a Return or Exchange

10. Processing Times

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will confirm receipt by email.

Refunds, store credits, exchanges, and replacement orders are typically processed within 3 business days after inspection.

11. Lost Orders

If your shipment is officially confirmed as lost by the postal or courier service used for delivery, you may choose either:

  • A full refund, or

  • A free replacement shipment

Carrier investigations typically require 2–3 weeks before a shipment can be declared lost.
